KOGI CIVIL SERVANT: WE WILL ALL DIE IF BELLO RE-ELECTED

Yahaya Bello of Kogi state A group of civil servants under the aegis of concerned Kogi workers forum, on Sunday, 'June 30, warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) against giving its ticket to the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, ahead of the November governorship election. Nigerian Tribune reports that the forum said foisting the governor on the workers “would amount to further shortening our life span.” Legit.ng gathered that the spokesman of the forum, Hassan Abdul, in a statement made available to newsmen, appealed to the national secretariat of the APC not to elongate the suffering of the people by conceding the ticket to the governor. The workers, who threw their weight behind the governorship bid of a former chief of naval staff, Vice Admiral Jibrin Usman, said “as workers who bear the brunt of Gov. Pastor Omodele Fatoyinbo, wife of the Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly in Guzape, Abuja, Pastor Abiodun Fatoyinbo, says her husband is not a rapist. Mrs. Fatoyinbo said, “My husband is not a rapist. Even if he was not a believer, he would not be a rapist.” Before she could complete her speech, however, her husband quickly grabbed the microphone and said, “the elders are handling the matter.” Our correspondent, who is currently in the church auditorium, reported that although church service usually ends at 12 pm, the service was already rounding before 11 am while no sermon was delivered. Mrs. Busola Dakolo, the wife of popular musician, Timi Dakolo, had on Friday accused Fatoyinbo of raping her 20 years ago. The allegation caused a storm over the weekend with groups calling for the arrest of Fatoyinbo while some of his supporters have stayed by his side. Despite the harsh criticism of  the planned establishment of Ruga settlements across the country, the Federal Government is set to commence the pilot phase of the project  in Taraba, Adamawa, Plateau, Kaduna and seven other states,  Saturday PUNCH ’s investigations have confirmed. It was learnt in Abuja on Friday that the  execution of the project  would start in 11 states including Sokoto, Nasarawa, Kogi, Katsina, Kebbi, Zamfara and Niger. Documents seen  by one of our correspondents at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development showed that all was set for the implementation of the initiative.
