RE: PETITION OF KOGI CENTRAL UNITY MANDATE

PRESS STATEMENT FOR URGENT RELEASE

October 5th 2019

HIS ROYAL MAJESTY,
ALH. (DR.) ADO IBRAHIM,
OHINOYI OF EBIRALAND,
AZAD PALACE, OKENE.

RE: PETITION OF KOGI CENTRAL UNITY MANDATE

Your Royal Majesty,

I greet you on behalf of myself, your subject, the Kogi Central axis of the PDP Governorship Campaign Council and on behalf of the Gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, Engr. Musa Wada and his running mate, Hon. Sam Aro.

I read of the petition of a group led by one Hon. En-Habib Abdullah, the said convener of the group named Kogi Central Unity Mandate.

Your Royal Majesty sir , you will observe that the petition is simply a calculated political attempt to paint in a bad light before your Royal Majesty, the person of the Gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, Engr. Musa Wada.

First of all, Your Majesty sir, I urge you to not take their petition with any seriousness as I can speak on behalf of Engr. Musa Wada and I can prove it to you, Your Royal Majesty, that he respects we the Ebiras a lot, same as every other tribe in Kogi State, regardless of whether minority or majority.

If at all, there is any candidate in this forthcoming Gubernatorial election, that is detribalised and an ardent lover of the good people of Kogi Central, it is none other than Engr. Musa Wada, the Gubernatorial candidate of the PDP.

The same respect he accords his own people, the good people of Igalaland is the same respect he accords we the good people of Ebiraland, same as the Bassas, the Okuns, to mention but a few, as he is one person that is ahome everywhere in Kogi State.

Where the petitioners found their own conviction, with which to paint Engr. Musa Wada black before you is really known to them and can be best described as a figment of their imagination, having twisted facts to suit their own purpose before making  light of Your Royal Majesty's attention with their petition, that is just nothing but an agenda to set one tribe against another, and to set your highly respected self against the candidate of the PDP.

Your Royal Majesty, I trust your discretion, therefore I am at rest, knowing that their ethnicity trick will not work, as you see all Kogites as one and will definitely not believe their hate-filled and highly inflammatory petition.

Thank you, Your Royal Majesty.

Your subject,
David G. Itopa,
Kogi Central PDP, Secretary New media directorate,
PDP Gubernatorial Campaign Council.

  1. Thank you for your response Mr . David Itopa.

You have a good grasp of the English language and I respect that.

You also didn't use any foul language that could offend anyone, you were very diplomatic in your response and I must appreciate that.

However, my brother you completely misunderstood the write up.

About two days ago if I'm correct, the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, Engr. Musa Wada stirred the hornets nest by stating on live TV, the AIT that Igala votes alone can determine who becomes the Governor of Kogi State, and that heaven would not fall.

You were completely silent on this statement of your principal.

He has not denied the statement nor apologized for it.

The statement had actually angered a lot of people mostly the non-Igala people of Kogi State.

It even led to the resignation of one of their key officials from the campaign team of their party.

Now, you are trying to defend the reckless and unguarded statement of your principal, but you kept silent on the initial matter that drew the first blood.

If such a person, who has insulted the sense and sensibilities of your fatherland enters our home town, don't you think he would do worse?

I therefore conclude by urging you to send a word of caution to your principal, not to unnecessarily heat up the polity.

In this way, the gubernatorial elections would be very peaceful.

    Thanks for your time.

Long live the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland.

    Long live Ebiraland.

    Long live Kogi State.

    Engr. Abbas Ibrahim,
    Secretary,
    Kogi Central Unity Mandate.
