OKENE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, AN EMPIRE OF POLITICAL MARGINALIZATION OF THE MINORITY CLAN, ASUWE MUST BE RECORGNISE  POLITICALLY.


Igbira/Ebira central (Okene LGA) politics has been on a zoning policy amongst their clans right from time. this arrangement is to create, maintain and promote peace in the community.
The Politically zoning policy in Okene Local Government Area, can be condemned as an unconstitutional policy happening outside the pages of the Nigeria constitution but this idea is an unwritten gentleman’s agreement meant to share power amongst the clans and also meant to create peace, love and unity, only that it is confirm that the minority among the clans in Okene Local Government suffered neglect in this policy.

I am not condemning this ideas of political zoning policy in Okene Local Government Area because am not and will never be against what is design to bring peace and development to my people, but I won't fold my hands and assume that things are okay, people need to understand that some clans have been neglected in this arrangement.

This little thoughts of mine will direct me into a brief history, for I am not that good in the history.
Okene LGA has two major clans which are AGADA & OKOVI the son of Adayi Ugah the founder of Okengwe.

AGADA has five (5) subclan namely OGU, AKUTA, ESUSU, AVI AND EDE subclan. They have all tasted almost all the political post or offices in the local government.

OKOVI has seven (7) subclan namely, ASUWE, ADOBE, EWURE, EYIRE, OMAVI, AHEBE AND OMOYE. It is obvious that Out of these 7 clan EYIRE, OMAVI, OMOYE, are the richest, strongest and most favored clan including AHEBE, the rest are referred to be the minority.

I never meant to talk too much but the issue is that out of these seven (7) clan of OKOVI, ASUWE who happens to be the eldest has been neglected in terms of political position and post in  Okene LGA, why do I have to figure only Asue clan out of these minority clans in Okovi linage may be the question that ring straight to the mind, yes I am here to awaken the mind of the entire Asue community both home and in the diaspora into this political sidelining in Okene Local Government Area.

My main concern is that if truly the zoning policy is to creat love, peace, unity and equality among the clans, ASUWE and other clans from this minority group should be given a chance at least.

I have been patiently waiting, until the emergence of this new direction administration, hoping to see if they will recognize ASUWE clan for the beautiful fact that the pilot of this administration is once from a political minority and a neglected clan from the Local Government Area but the hope is just like waiting for a train in a bus stop.

My dear people of Okene LGA, I call on all the political leaders to look back on the schedule of leadership in Okene LGA, what has been the achievement of ASUWE clan?

I urge the entire families in Asuwe clan to  wakeup and stand up as we have educated sons and daughters, let us work for the mission OKENE MUST RECORGNISE ASUWE Politically.
